Raw Speech
Dear President, dear (inaudible), distinguished guests, team leader, contestant and our generous host Bolivia,
Good afternoon and a very well… warm welcome to the Inder-International Olympiads of Informatics… 2025 in this beautiful city of Sucre, Bolivia.
Bolivia has brought IOI to a record high. Twenty-2810m in all. In every sense of the words, not only geographically, uh-it is actually true that Bolivia has set a record in hosting IOI. Okay. In… some… s-slightly more uh more than half a year, through cheer determination, preservance and spirit, they make IOI 25 a possible, despite a lot of challenge, a lot of ops. The success in bringing IOI to us, is an inspiration to us all. We are deeply grateful to the IOI uh… Bolivia team. Let’s give them a round of apprause.
Now let me pose a question to everyone… of everyone here. Has IOI truly reach a high point in the past 3 years after the COVID19 pandemic? Unfortunately, the honest answer is no. In reality, IOI has been facing some of the very dipical years. In fact, in some time, we feel that we have fallen into a deep pit. Our community is divided, we are staring in a future where finding willing and capable host country is no longer guarantee. We face challenges not only from within, but also from external pressure. Yet, as Bolivia has shown us, obstacle are not the end of the story. They are opportunity for unity and renewal. Just as Bolivia has overcome its challenges to host IOI 2025 with pride and heart, I believe we, as a global community, can at most come together to solve probems confronting us. So in the next few years, let us focus our collective effort on the development of IOI.
First of all, let us work together with the less development… less developed country, helping them build better student training program, not just to compete but to grow. It is time we change the perception that some delegation attend IOI merely for a inexpensive annual holiday. We have begun to engage with industry partners whose core mission is to nurture students in the age group. Some of them has already expressed commitment to supporting our contestant with accessible, high quality training.
For the first time, we are also conducting an AI… IOI AI contest in pararer, given AI system the opportunity to compete with human contestant. This experiment is not only exciting, but will also help this system better understand their strength and their weaknesses, and improve their ability to support coding and programming education in the future.
Beyond this, we will soon propose a series of new initiative aimed at expanding IOI impact beyond the annual competition. Making hosting more sustainable by tackling the high budget challenge and most importantly nurturing the environment of mutual respect, unity and inclusiveness among all our participating countries and region. With your support, we can rebuild IOI not just to what it once was, but something even greater. Let us make Sucre the city of four names, the place where a new chapter begins. Let us climb from the depths of the past few years and truly reach a new height, 2810m together.
On behalf of IOI, I thank the organizing teams in Bolivia once again for their immerse effort and dedication. I ask all of you to give them your full support so that we may have a successful, memorable and unifying IOI in the next few days. Thank you and may IOI be a beacon of renewal and hope for all of us.
Thank you.

Dear President, dear (inaudible), distinguished guests, team leaders, contestants and our generous host Bolivia,
Good afternoon and a very warm welcome to the International Olympiad in Informatics 2025 in this beautiful city of Sucre, Bolivia.

In more than half a year, through sheer determination, perseverance and spirit, they made IOI 25 possible, despite a lot of challenges, a lot of ops. The success in bringing IOI to us, is an inspiration to us all. We are deeply grateful to the Bolivian team. Let’s give them a round of applause.
Now let me pose a question to everyone here. Has IOI truly reached a high point in the past 3 years after the COVID19 pandemic? Unfortunately, the honest answer is no. We have begun to engage with industry partners whose core mission is to nurture students in the age group. Some of them have already expressed commitment in supporting our contestants with accessible, high quality training.
For the first time, we are also conducting an IOI AI contest in parallel, giving AI systems the opportunity to compete with human contestants. This experiment is not only exciting, but will also help these systems better understand their strengths and their weaknesses, and improve their ability to support coding and programming education in the future.
